What Do You Think of the Association? Part 4

The fourth edition in our series of ANSWCU videos from 1990 features Bill Howe. Bill had an illustrious career which included becoming the first Australian President of the World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) in 1982. This is a position the current COBA CEO Mike Lawrence holds.

In the interview Bill discusses how Australia is seen by the world credit union movement and the importance of the WOCCU Conference held in Sydney in 1979. He also discusses the Association of NSW Credit Unions (ANSWVU) and Project Renewal that was happening at the time. Project Renewal resulted in the dismantling of the state peak bodies and the instituting of Cuscal as the national credit union peak body in 1992.

At the time of the interview Bill was Vice Chair of SWB Community Credit Union which today is known as Community First Bank.
