About CUFSAL

This week we have a video from 1986 by CUFSAL which stood for Credit Union Financial Services (Australia) Ltd. CUFSAL initially involved the Association of NSW Credit Unions, the ACT Credit Union Association Co-operative, the Credit Union Association of South Australia and the Australian Federation of Credit Unions Ltd (AFCUL). It was instituted in 1985/1986 to establish a national presence for credit unions in the Australian and international money markets and to improve security for credit union depositors. 

The video shows the financial strength of Australian credit unions and how this was achieved by the industry working together. It then explains how CUFSAL was created and how it works including the processing of Visa and Redicard payments.
