The National Credit Union Association (NCUA) was formed in Queensland as a peak body for credit unions unsatisfied with the established peak bodies. Most of the NCUA membership was drawn from Queensland but also from NSW and elsewhere. Payments firm Indue was created by the NCUA. The NCUA continued on it's own path after the establishment of Cuscal in 1992 until 2007 when the 23 members of the NCUA joined Abacus.
