1975 - 1982
Following the Division of the Association of Central Credit Unions (ACCU) from the Association of Southern Credit Unions (ASCU) in 1974, the Union of Credit Union Associations Ltd (UCUA) was formed. The UCUA provided an informal forum for NSW credit unions affiliated with the various regional associations.

In 1977, the New South Wales Credit Union League (NSWCUL) authorised its board to join with UCUA to form a lobby group that might achieve a wider range of services. Statutory Reserve Funds presented an obstacle to amalgamation but there was agreement on joint action regarding state and federal taxes, credit legislation and other matters. In 1982, with greater agreement achieved within the NSW credit union movement, the Association of New South Wales Credit Unions was formed and the UCUA was rendered redundant.

Our UCUA collection includes meeting minutes, reports and governance documents.
