What is a Credit Union?

Cuscal recorded these vox pops (“voice of the people”) around the turn of the millennium for presentation at seminars. The participants are asked “what is a credit union?” and “what is the difference between a credit union and a bank?”.

The answers get more informed as the short video progresses with one great response by a man who when asked about the difference between a bank and a credit union is unable to answer because he’s never used a bank, he’s only ever used a credit union.

The video came from our recent batch of digitised VHS tapes and another is a supplementary video featuring vox pops with credit union staff produced for the same purpose by Cuscal. We will bring you those next year.
