Vale Gary Eggert

Australian Mutuals Archives was saddened to learn of the recent passing of a great friend and supporter, Gary Eggert. Gary’s long involvement with credit unions began in 1981 when he went to work for the Association of NSW Credit Unions as a management consultant. He left there to become General Manager of Transport Credit Union. Eventually he would be General Manager/CEO of 9 credit unions including Power Credit Union, Select Credit Union, NRMA Credit Union and Broadway Credit Union. He was also involved with the Institute of Credit Union Directorsand the Credit Union Savings Reserve Board.

Gary supported the work of the archives by recording two oral histories with us in 1993 and 1994, donating records and providing us with industry insider tip-offs. Our thoughts go out to his friends and family.
