The Credit Union League of Western Australia Co-operative Society Ltd (WACUL) was established in 1966. The role of the league was to disseminate information on credit unions, their method of organisation and operation, to assist in the operation and management of member credit unions in Western Australia, to purchase equipment, training and similar materials with the purpose of sale to credit unions, publication of a regular journal and other materials beneficial to credit unions and the arrangement of insurance services. The Credit Union Association of Western Australia was formed to carry on the role of the league in 1977.
