P&N Bank is the last home grown financial mutual left standing in Western Australia. It began as Police and Nurses Credit Society in 1990 after the merger of the Police Credit Society and the Western Australia Nurses Credit Society. The Police Credit Society began in 1969 as the Western Australian Police Union Cooperative Credit Union Society with just 10 members. The WA Nurses Credit Society began in April 1972.

Our collection of P&N Bank material includes annual reports from 1995 onwards, the published history In Safe Hands: Reflections of P&N Bank - 1969-2016, newsletters and contemporary governance documents and reports published online.

1990 - Registered in WA as Police and Nurses Credit Society. Formed following the merger of the Police Credit Society Limited and the Western Australia Nurses Credit Society.
2001 – Merged with Energy Credit Union
2009 - Trading name changed to Police and Nurses Mutual Banking
2013 – Officially becomes a mutual bank with name changed to Police and Nurses Limited (trading as P&N Bank)
2019 - Merged with bcu. bcu becomes a division of Police and Nurses Ltd
