Geelong Bank is the trading name of Ford Co-operative Credit Society. It has been proudly serving the financial needs of members in the great city of Geelong since 1974 when it was registered as Ford Employees (Geelong) Credit Union Co-operative. As the name suggests, the credit union was formed by Ford Motor Company employees at their Geelong premises. In 1984 it merged with Ford Broadmeadows Employees Credit Union and the following year they opened a branch in Sydney. After merging with Commercial Credit Co-operative in Geelong in 1990, the bond ceased to be restricted to Ford workers and their families. Eventually its name was changed to Ford Co-operative Credit Society and it was generally known as FCCS. Ford’s factory in Geelong closed in 2016 and the decision was made to begin trading as Geelong Bank in November 2018. On 1 May 2026 Geelong Bank merged with Hume Bank.
