Prior to becoming Beyond Bank Australia in 2013, Community CPS Australia was one of Australia’s largest credit unions. Over the years several like minded organisations joined them including Country First Credit Union, Alliance One, Wagga Mutual Credit Union, Companion Credit Union, United Community Credit Union, Eastwoods Financial Planning and Universal Financial Planning.

“CPS” stood for “Commonwealth Public Service”, and we hold many records informing the rich history of Beyond Bank Australia. These include annual reports, photographs, newsletters, the published history - The Morality of Money: a study of the first 21 years of the C.P.S. Credit Union Co-operative (1984), oral history recordings and contemporary governance documents and reports published online.

2006 – Formed as Community CPS Australia from the merger of CPS Credit Union Co-operative (ACT) and CPS Credit Union (SA)
2008 - Merged with United Credit Union (WA)
2008 – Merged with Westax Credit Society
2009 – Merged with Polish Community Credit Union
2010 - Merged with Companion Credit Union (NSW)
2011 - Merged with Wagga Mutual Credit Union
2013 - Merged with Alliance One Credit Union
2013 - Community CPS Australia became a mutual bank - trading as Beyond Bank Australia
2018 - Merged with My Credit Union (MYCU)
2020 - Merged with Nexus Mutual
2022 - Merged with South West Credit Union Co-operative (South West Credit)
2024 - Merged with First Choice Credit Union
2024 - Merged with AWA Alliance Bank
2026- Merged with Family First Bank
