BankVic is another mutual with its roots in the police and emergency services. It was begun by Victorian Police Association members in 1974 and registered as Police Association Credit Co-operative. Eventually the bond broadened which can be seen in its merger with MMC Staff Credit Union Co-operative, which represented Monash Medical Centre, in 1998. It was early among the shifters to mutual banking when it began trading as BankVic in 2013.

We hold a significant tranche of BankVic records including annual reports dating back to 1991, copies of Looking after our own - the first twenty years of the Police Association Credit Co-operative Limited 1974-1994, newsletters and contemporary governance documents and reports published online.

1974 - Registered in Victoria as Police Association Credit Co-operative.
1998 – Merged with MMC Staff Credit Union Co-operative
2001 - Began trading as Police Credit
2013 - Name changed to Police Financial Services Limited and began trading as BankVic
