The Y.C.W. Co-operative Society became the umbrella organisation for various co-operative endeavours undertaken by the Young Christian Workers (YCW) movement in Victoria. Its earliest co-operatives were in housing in the 1940s but they also created a network of trading co-operatives and worker owned enterprises. The credit co-operative (credit union) wing was the most successful operation and was called the YCW Central Credit Co-operative. The YCW Central Credit Co-operative was the first credit union registered under the new Co-operation Act of 1954 in Victoria.

Our Y.C.W. Co-operative Society collection includes annual reports, news clippings and oral history recordings.
