1943 - 1986
The Co-operative Federation of Australia (CFA) was formed as a national peak body in 1943. However, according to Patmore, Balnave, & Olivera, the CFA, "remained weak and fluctuated in its level of activity, becoming moribund in 1986" (A History of Australian Co-operatives 1827–2023).

Today, Australian co-ops and mutuals are represented by the Business Council of Co-operatives and Mutuals (BCCM) and the Co-op Federation. Customer owned banks (mutual banks and credit unions) are represented by the Customer Owned Banking Association (COBA) and the BCCM.

Our CFA collection includes some newsletters, reports and photographs.
