Credit Union Association of Western Australia
WA
1977 - 1992
Australia's credit unions and the economy more broadly went through difficulties during the mid to late 1970s. This was a world wide phenomenon triggered by oil shocks. The trouble in Australia's credit unions resulted in reform of the state leagues. In WA, the Credit Union League of Western Australia Co-operative Society Ltd (WACUL) was wound up and replaced by the Credit Union Association of Western Australia. Despite structural changes, the new Credit Union Association of Western Australia existed to assist in the operation and management of member credit unions in Western Australia as did WACUL.
