Move Bank was begun by Queensland railway workers in 1968 during the great wave of credit union creation instituted by the Queensland Credit Union League. It gave railway workers and their families a transparent and secure way to save and acquire credit. Queensland is an enormous state and is heavily dependent on railways for freight.
